The Spanish Armada
Midriff Records is psyched to release the debut self-titled album by the Boston five piece known as The Spanish Armada. The album is available to be consumed today! The album explores the Spanish Armada’s noisy tendencies and features the howl of Greg Lyon (of Midriff band Pending Disappointment fame) on lead vocal. In fact, all of the S.A. guys previously earned their keep playing in other Boston bands such as Kipper Kin (w/ songstress Sarah Borges), The Fens, and as part of Eldridge Rodriguez’s band. The album was recorded by the band and w/ Ray Jeffery (Dropkick Murphy’s, Wheat, upcoming Beatings album) partially at his Liberty and Union recording studio in Taunton, MA and mastered by Eric Baird (Dropkick Murphy’s, mem. of Black Helicopter) at his Half Son of Audio Mastering studio. I could tear into a lengthy exposition as to what the music sounds like, what the disc will remind you of and why you need to own it but words do not do such grand sounds a worthy service. The Spanish Armada’s self titled debut is twelve eclectic, layered noise-rock anthems that you are bound to find something new in with each listen. The album can be ordered right here, right now.
