Midriff Records is proud to announce the release of The Good Green Earth by Get Help. The Good Green Earth is the followup to Get Help’s 2008 minor masterpiece The End of the New Country. Driven by the twin songwriting talents of Mike Ingenthron and The Beatings’ Tony Skalicky, The Good Green Earth is loaded with Get Help’s trademark guitar hooks, memorable lyrics and catchy melodies.

Get Help started as a songwriting project by Skalicky and Ingenthron as they both took a break from touring and recording with their own bands. After several months of exchanging ideas over email, they hosted their tracks on a blog they’d created to share random musical ideas, jokingly referring to themselves as the world’s first blog band. But soon the songs took hold, and Get Help found they had a loyal following in NYC and Boston. Encouraged by the response to their lark of a side-project, Get Help went into a Brooklyn studio and recorded The End of the New Country. Upon its release, the response was positive. Get Help songs soon began appearing on NPR, ESPN, PBS Television, and the National Geographic Channel.

Shortly after the release of the album, Get Help solidified its lineup with the addition of Gene D’Avolio on drums and John Van Atta on bass. With a new, cohesive band at the helm, Get Help enlisted studio guru Ray Jeffrey of Liberty & Union Recording Co. and began recording in early 2010. What emerged is a confident rock album of songs about relationships, closure, and new beginnings.
